Week of 11/12/19
  • Anyone 16 or older interested in donating blood - our school is hosting a winter blood drive in December. You can sign up at the Student Store at lunch.  There are limited spots so sign up soon.
  • If you are interested in the fire industry, Boulder Creek Fire Department has a unique fire academy designed for junior and seniors that runs January through May. The deadline is Nov 19th.  See Amy Paul in if interested.
  • Attention seniors: Senior quotes and baby pics are due 12/6/19.  Please click the link on the SVHS website under the senior tab to fill out your quote and upload your photo. NO PAPER SUBMISSIONS.  Quotes must be appropriate to be included in the yearbook.
  • There is a Cooking Club meeting @ break in Spitzer's room.  The theme is Comfort Food.
  • Wanna "Slime the Prime"?  Our canned food drive is happening now with the school goal of 1,000 cans.  If we reach that goal, we will dump slime on Mr. Hanson at our next rally.  Also, if your second period class reaches 50 cans, your class will get a super duper delicious, one-of-a-kind, scrumptious delightful treat!  Only a few days to collect cans, so get to it.
  • SVHS will be hosting a Shadow Day on Monday, December 2nd.  We are still looking for Student Ambassadors  (See below).  See Neelu if interested.
  • Volleyball Tournament is next Tuesday, Nov 19th.  If you're interested in playing, you can sign up in the student store at lunch.  Please contact Ashley Lewis if you have any questions.
  • Happy World Kindess Day! Today we challenge you to say thank you to someone in your life who shows you kindness.
  • Sports photos are available in the front office.  Please come pick yours up!
Week of 11/4/19
  • Boulder Creek Fire Department is offering a fire academy for juniors and seniors. This is a unique program to learn fire skills and you will earn 15 hours of community service. See Amy Paul in the College and Career Center if interested.
  • In honor of Veteran's Day, we would like to honor those who have protected our country. If you have a family member or friend you want to recognize for their service, bring in a picture and short note to Skylar Kuo or Ms Fisher.  There will be a poster displayed on Friday.
  • Wrestling tryouts this week. Paperwork can be turned in to Louie Walters.
  • University of Alabama on campus Wednesday, 9am.
  • SVHS will be hosting a Shadow Day on Monday, Dec 2nd. We are looking for Student Ambassadors to host Shadow Students by taking them to all classes, guiding them around campus and helping to answer questions about SVHS.  Please see Neelu or the counselors for more information.
  • The Good Baked Goods Club is meeting Thursday, 11/7 in room C703. Be there if you want to order a T-shirt.
  • Canned Food Drive begins today! School goal of 1,000 cans by 11/22.
  • Sign up for Blood Drive starts 11/7 at Break (Drive is 12/6).
  • If you know a Cross Country runner be sure and congratulate them today! The girls placed 5th in the league and qualified to run in the CCS meet next Saturday. The Frosh Soph boys, JV Boys and the Varsity boys are all SCCAL League champions, and Jeremy Kain is the individual league champion. Varsity boys will run at CCS next Saturday as well. GO FALCONS!!
Week of 10/28/19
  • County Science Fair meeting Tuesday, Mr. Postovit's room C509.
  • The kitchen will be open today serving a limited breakfast and lunch will be Tony and Alba's Pizza.  There will also be snacks and water, too.
  • Juniors- If you are interested in being part of the Spanish Trip, Summer of 2020, you can receive leadership and community service hours. Please come to our informational meetings - Tuesday, 10/29 at lunch or Wednesday, 10/30 at break in Ms. Else's room C401).  Contact Mahyar Vahabi for more information.
  • Boys soccer informational meeting at lunch today in the gym.
  • Get ready for Halloween. Wednesday, 10/30 there will be trick or treating in the classrooms at break.  
  • Softball sign ups are today at lunch in the Cheer Room.
  • Due to the power outage, the College Application Workshop will be held in the office today.  Workshop starts at 1:15pm and goes until 4pm.  Drop by any time!
  • Global Glimpse travelers learn leadership skills and gain seal-of-bi-literacy hours.  Learn about this wonderful opportunity today at lunch in Else's room!

  • Vanderbilt University will be at SVHS Tuesday, Oct 22 at 1pm.  Wednesday Oct 23 ,Whitman College at 8am, Beacon College at 9am and Lewis and Clark at 11am.  Friday Oct 25, UC San Diego at 10:45. Next week, University of Oregon, Sonoma State, University of Portland, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, Oregon State University, Marist,  and Colorado State University!   • Breast Cancer Awareness- raising awareness on Friday by wearing insane pink.  At break, every donation of a dollar or more, will receive a bracelet.  At lunch, there will be games, music, and treats to go with each donation.  All proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
  • Halloween- Wednesday, Oct 30th there will be trick or treating in the classrooms at break! Come and grab some candy from your teachers. Wear a costume for free candy!
  • Junior Class Fundraiser this Wednesday at Los Gallos from 11am-3pm.  Tell them you are from SVHS.
  • If you are interested in helping out with the fall play, "The Bold, the Young and the Murdered" come to the tech meeting today, 10/22 at lunch in the drama room E201. Contact Isabella Collins or Ms. Kennegaard for more information.

  • Salad Bar- the kitchen will be starting the salad bar for the first time ever this week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • School photos are in - come pick them up in the front office.
  • Model UN - first meeting, Monday 10/14 in Ms. Silva's room.
  • Falcon Club- Earn community service hours helping out in the lower parking lot on Saturday (10/19) or Sunday (10/20) for 3-4 hrs. Sign up in the College and Career Center to volunteer with the Goodwill Donation Drive.
  • Falcon's Volleyball Senior Night is 10/15 against Aptos. Wear pink and come support the seniors.  Freshman game at 3:30, JV at 5 and Varsity at 6:30.
  • Girls Soccer - there will be a meeting Thursday, at 12:45 in the gym concerning the upcoming season.
  • College Visits this week- Point Loma @ 9am Tuesday, Binghamton @ 8am Thursday, and CSU Monterey Bay @12pm Friday.

  • PSAT - Saturday, 10/19 at SVHS. Sign ups are first come, first served Sept 16-Oct 11.  $25 cash or check (to SVHS) to the front office 7:15am-3:15pm.
  • College Visits Friday, Oct 11th: University of Puget Sound 8am and California State Univeristy Monterey Bay 9am.
  • Homecoming Week Theme Days: 'Merica Monday, Tourist Tuesday, Workout Wednesday, Too Cray Thursday, Flashback Friday. Yearbook will be taking pictures on the grassy knoll everyday this week at lunch.
  • Club Booth at Homecoming Carnival - if you want to have a club booth at the carnival this Friday, to the the meeting at break in Ms. Fisher's room.

  • Airforce and Army will be in the quad at lunch on Thursday.

  • Homecoming Dance theme is the Roaring Twenties.  Show off your white, silver and gold and buy a ticket!  Tickets will be sold at break and lunch Thursday and Friday this week and lunch next week.  Tickets are $3 without ASB and $1 with ASB; $5 at the door.
  • Boba Fundraiser at Sushi Blossom by the middle school. You get $1 off when you say you are from SVHS.

  • The Senior Class is having a boba fundraiser at the Sushi Blossom restaurant everyday next week starting 9/30. Sushi Blossom is located on Camp Evers Lane on the south end of town, Boba will be cheaper than usual
