About the Scotts Valley High School Library

As a hub of knowledge and celebrator of diversity, the Scotts Valley High School Library serves SVHS students and teachers in their research needs, and actively supports intellectual freedom and reading for fun! The library offers a selection of nearly 9,000 fiction, nonfiction, and reference materials, as well as popular magazines, and more! The library continues to build and improve upon its collection to meet the information demands of the 21st century learners and educators it serves. Above all, the library supports education and collaboration, and welcomes new ideas and feedback from the SVHS community and library volunteers.

Thank you to Scotts Valley Educational Foundation!

Did you know that Scotts Valley High School Library is fully supported by the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation? Through generous community donations to the SVEF, our library has remained open and staffed through challenging economic times.

Library Databases

Even when the library is closed, students and faculty can still access the SVHS library catalog and electronic research database!

New to the SVHS library this year, through a generous donation from our Parent Club, the SVHS library now proudly subscribes to Academic Search Premier, a premium research database found on both high school and college campuses throughout the country. This database can be accessed on and off campus by visiting Academic Search Premier at Please contact our librarian for the password. In addition, our library’s online catalog can provide instant access to the library's collection of fiction, non-fiction, and reference titles.

Our Library 'Wish List'

In an effort to enable students and members of the community to assist in our continuing growth and development, the SVHS Library has established a wish list at Bookshop Santa Cruz, which can be accessed either in store, or online! The best part is that while supporting our local bookstore, for every purchase that is made on behalf of Scotts Valley High School, the library will receive 15% of the purchase price of each item towards more books! This is a wonderful way for parents to help SVHS increase its collection with new, exciting, and high interest reading material for our students. Please inquire at the information desk in store, or visit and list “Scotts Valley High School” in the special instructions after payment.  Thank you!

Students are always encouraged to bring questions and comments to the library staff, but these links offer 24 hour access to services that can aid in student research off campus.
